It's just turned bitterly cold in London, but at least Chris plays some good tunes, and Larissa makes a mean Roast. A great sunday evening!

Polish Post Offices and Stolen Cars

Approaching my 46th working hour over the past 3 days, I'm taking the liberty to tune into Dave Matthews Band on the ipod...

Before me is my best guess at the future of a Polish television company. I should take the time to thank the investor relations woman who brightens my day with her soliliquies pertaining to Polish post office queues, and the frustrations of having to go out and buy 2 baby new seats that disappeared with her car, which was stolen two days ago. No wonder its so hard to get on to her! A little better than one man at an ad agency who, upon hearing me speak English hung up and ignored the phone as I called back. I thought I'd be cheeky and wait awhile, and asked my question in German - he'll understand me now! Alas, a different person answered the phone: "you can speak English you know?!"

Now I have my model built, I'd better write something and tell the world how good or bad this company is... if anyone will listen :-) It won't matter to me though, I'll be in Greece!

Take a big breath

I haven't posted since Copenhagen, having been more than occupied by life for some time now...

V and I have moved house, into the trendier suburb of Angel (sadly carrying with it a trendier price tag). There was one too many gang fights outside our old house, and V didn't have any more room to store the drugs that were thrown into our yard as cops chased people down the street.... So we find ourselves now in the thick of bars, restaurants, cafes... The house is made up of me, Laff, Claire and V:

Some very free credit policies with banks lending money to anyone with 2 arms, two legs and a lisp, as well as a little bit of middle-east-directed defense spending has conspired in my temp contract at Goldman Sachs ending on September 28th. There's nothing like financial panic and massive hedge fund losses to cause the banks to cut costs - ie staff. But one door closing means another must open, and the first new door is a holiday in Greece and at Oktoberfest... and now the plan is extending to Spain. I'm meeting Jane in Corfu, and in Munich will be catching up with Big Al, and hopefully Jochen and Förtschi. Then I'll be meeting Fran and visiting my favourite Catalans in Barca... bring on Oktober!

Livia came over for August and worked at a nearby Turkish restaurant, but we found the time to get down to Notting Hill carnival, a fiesta of colour and the largest street party outside of Rio's big event.
