And some cucina all'napoletana. Roberta, 2nd from the right, had me rolling pizza dough not too long after arriving (mercifully long enough to take a shower after 18hrs of train travel from Barcelona) - and look what we created. In the foil tin is a normal pizza; Roberta's boyfriend Fausto holds up in front deep-fried pizza dough filled with ricotta, peas and pancetta; between my other housemate Gina and I is another pizza; and hiding behind the depp-fried ricotta dough things and deep-fried dough balls, this time without ricotta. Just some sugo (tomato sauce) on top...
So as you can see, I've settled into Roma in the best possible way - with lovely people and good cooks! My place is in an area called Prenestina which is about 7kms east of the centre. Tomorrow is my first day of class at a language school at Piazza Bologna, which is north-east of the centre, and I guess also about 7kms from here. Regardless of the school, it seems that I will be immersed in the language nonetheless because my housemates don't speak english!
Va bene!!
